Exit Interview With God

A fundamentalist Christian dies and meets God for his death interview. God asks the man, "Did you believe in me with all your heart and mind?"

The man responds, "Lord, you know I did - I had unshakable faith."

God responds, "Even though you had no real evidence that I existed?"

"The Bible was all the evidence I needed," replied the man confidently.

God spoke, "The Bible was written by man, not by me. In fact, I never provided any evidence I existed."

The man was astonished, "But I still had faith in you! I just KNEW you existed!"

God looked solemnly at the man. "And that is why I have no use for you. I am God, the most intelligent being ever, and I need minds that can think for themselves and won't believe in things without good evidence."

The man stammered, "But, but..."

God declared, "I only have use for atheists and rationalists, because they didn't believe in me. Despite all the peer pressure, they alone had the courage of their convictions to not believe in me because there was no evidence that I exist."

The man started to cry.

"I'm sorry, but this is the end." And the man ceased to exist.

The fundamentalist Christian woke with a start, shaken to the core by the dream he had. After he recovered, he hopped out of bed and said, "See, I knew there was a God!"
