At one time, everyone in our society wore yellow shirts. This is how it had always been. The books passed down by the ancient ones were clear that wearing yellow shirts was absolutely required by the Universe Itself. Not wearing a yellow shirt was just plain wrong. So, everyone always wore yellow shirts, and that's just the way it always was in our society. Everyone was happy with that.
Except for the people who liked to wear green shirts. It was against the law of the Universe to wear green shirts, so these people chose to do the right thing and wear yellow shirts anyway. Sometimes the bad ones would sneak around and wear their green shirt at home where no one else could see them. Sometimes a few of these people would get together and wear green shirts in secret places.
But they would eventually get caught and get into really bad trouble. No one wants to work with a green shirt, so they would naturally lose their jobs and have no money. It's naturally upsetting to see people going against the laws of society and the Universe Itself, so sometimes people would get really angry at these green shirts. It's not right, but it's so hard not to hurt people like that, who go against everything we hold dear, who are trying to destroy the foundation of our good society. If we don't all wear yellow shirts, it will destroy everything.
So, some of these green shirts ended up getting hurt really badly. Many were even killed. But, it's hard to feel too sorry for them. They knew what they were doing was wrong. They knew it would upset people. But they chose to wear a green shirt anyway. It was their choice, and they got the consequences they knew they would.
After a while, more and more people were seen walking around in public wearing green shirts. People did their best to stop them, but more people kept doing this. They weren't even trying to hide it. They weren't embarrassed at all. It didn't matter how much we tried to stop them or how strict we were with them, they just kept wearing their green shirts, right out in the open.
They kept saying it was their right to wear green shirts since that's what they wanted to do. That was ridiculous. The laws of the Universe don't change just because you want something. You have to do what's right or you get bad consequences. Yellow shirts are simply right and good, and going against that is just wrong, no matter how much they want it.
But we couldn't stop them. They just kept saying it was their right and that all our sacred traditions were wrong. They just kept parading around in those ridiculous green shirts, demanding that we accept their bad behavior.
A lot of the yellow shirts started supporting them too. They would never wear a green shirt themselves, but they didn't think it really caused any problems. It was just a different color of shirt. No reason to be mean to them. They actually turned against other yellow shirts. They even tried to change the holy laws of society so that there were no punishments against wearing green shirts.
This caused a great conflict in society. None of us wanted our society ruined by people just doing whatever they wanted instead of following the laws passed down from ancient times. We fought back hard, but more yellow shirts conspired against us, forcing us to abandon our sacred tradition of only wearing yellow shirts.
We thought it would destroy the foundation of our society and everyone would be wearing green shirts. But it turned out that only one out of ten people even wanted to wear a green shirt. We didn't like it, but we learned to accept these green shirted people. Eventually, we made peace with the green shirts, and everyone was happy again.
Well, until some people started wearing red shirts...
I enjoy thinking about all kinds of things and writing my thoughts to share with others. I think and write a lot about rationality, science, critical thinking, atheism and skepticism. I like to look at issues from different perspectives and go right to the heart of things, understanding things deeply. I tend to think about things in very unconventional ways, but always with a drive towards providing deep insight.
